WebNov 6, 2024 · I am not able to use the shortcuts keys Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V for copy and paste, respectively, on my Ubuntu 22.04. However, Ctrl + A works fine. Ctrl + Alt + T also does not work. In a terminal, you need to use shift+ctl+c and v for cut and paste. No idea why ctl+alt+t doesn't work, unless you are not running the standard Gnome desktop. WebDec 17, 2011 · Every now and again ctrl+v becomes unusable (though ctrl+x, ctrl+c continue to work). When I ask what they did last they never remember. WebSome searching learned me that the problem is caused by the fact that CTRL-V is used for pasting. The solution for me was to add: nnoremap q to my .vimrc Then you can use the q-key to get into visual block mode.
