WebJul 21, 2015 · The Opteka 6.5mm, Vivitar 7mm, Samyang/Rokinon/Bower/Pro-Optic/Phoenix/Walimex 8mm fisheye lens for dSLRs are all the same lens optically, and are all made by Samyang in Korea. The external differences are going to be in the casing and branding and (obviously) the flange focal distance for the specific mount. WebMar 10, 2024 · It appears to be the same as the Samyang 8mm f/3.5, also sold as Bower, Rokinon, and others. Why this Opteka says 6.5mm instead of 8mm is weird, but... I really like this lens. Sharpness is good. Not fantastic. A little softer in the corners, but that is expected. If I wanted perfection in a fisheye lens, I can spend a mortgage payment to get one.
